Around the time I started this blog, I googled to see if there was another Great Blog of Randomness out there.
Fortunately, there wasn't.
But, there was this:

Sure, it might not be great, but, amazingly enough, there is a Blog of Randomness out there.
Its author was laura_lou (I'll explain the "was" bit, shortly). Her "One Dark, Humid, Night" post even uses the term "great blog of randomness":
But after twenty painstaking minutes, she recieved that email that was the key to unlocking the great BLOG OF RANDOMNESS (duh duh duh). And then, she began to type. and she typed, and typed, and told the internet viewers of her whole sad sorry tale. It had been done. It was too late to change it. her mission. was completed. Now, the "was" bit.
That snippet you just read was from her most recent post.
It's dated Friday, April 27, 2007.
Incidentally, it's also one of three posts on her entire blog. In contrast, my blog, including the very post you're reading, has twenty-five entries.
What do her posts cover? Well, that can be divided into three categories:
- The difficulty of writing a blog ("That Was Difficult").
- A trip to the zoo ("Pirahnahs, and Zoos, and Kids OH MY!").
- The difficulty of logging into her own blog ("One Dark, Humid Night").
I win!
Oh, here's useless bit of trivia: do you know how close I came to calling this thing The Great Blog of Randominity? The only thing that held me back was my awareness that "randominity" is not a word (yes, I knew that all along), and that it was kinda pointless coining a new word which would be synonymous with "randomness", anyway.
Close call!
